Airport History
Tezu Airport is located at Tezu in the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh and serves as one of the state’s important regional airports. Originally developed as a small airstrip to improve connectivity in the remote northeastern region, the airport was primarily used for limited air operations due to the challenging terrain and sparse transportation infrastructure.
To strengthen regional air connectivity, the Government of India and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) upgraded the airport under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) Regional Connectivity Scheme.
