Tezpur Airport is located at Salonibari, approximately 15 kilometres from Tezpur city in the Sonitpur district of Assam. The airport has its origins as a military airfield and continues to play an important role in India’s defence infrastructure. It is home to the Indian Air Force’s Air Force Station Tezpur, one of the country’s key air bases in the Northeast.
